In the WNEX control room.
See the stain on the wall just over the phone? Over the years lots of friends stood there and watched WNEX jocks work.

A newspaper, cigarettes, coffee and records, all the tools needed to build a morning radio show. Plus some Hotshot for the bugs.
Playing records and punching carts at  WNEX

By the late Eighties WNEX was mostly an oldies station with a lot of sports on the air. Al was still doing high school basketball games live, and the station carried all the sports not sucked up by the big guys. Back then that meant Tech football and basketball and Hawks basketball along with the local  high school games.

Lee Jourdan is  the brother of WNEX legend Terry Taylor. Taylor was the afternoon drive guy and music director during a big part of WNEX's Top 40 heyday. Lee was doing afternoons while I worked at the Big X.

They used to come in by the suitcase, at least 18 Tallboys a day.
This Bud's for you... There are still a LOT of these cans lying around the WNEX property.
